I was lurking craigslist and found this post I thought it was lovely, and very accurate so i’ll share it with you. Had a blast at EDC with all you amazing people<3
“Hello, I am an EMT and was working the bike team at the LVMS this weekend for Electric Daisy Carnival EDC I just wanted to say that the people of EDC are the coolest bunch of people that I have ever worked any venue or street with. I have been an EMT for 3 years and the gratitude and respect that we received from the people of EDC was way more in 1 day at EDC then I have had in 3 years. I can not tell you how many people came up and thanked us for being there, or told us that we were doing a great job, or helped us clear paths when we were trying to get to sick or injured patients. This would never happen at any other venue including Nascar, concerts, nightclubs, or working 911 on the streets. The reputation that EDC participants has received in the past is unfair to the great numbers of people there that really are awesome. So as an EMT who was thanked, and respected and helped this weekend I would like to send a THANK YOU to all the people of EDC who came up and said something to us, helped move people out of the way, helped us with patients, or even just gave us a smile and a nod. So THANK YOU for showing us that our jobs arent 100% thankless, and anyone who is reading this no matter where you go whether it be at EDC or anywhere else that you have police, and EMT’s who are there to help you out and help your friends so that you can have a good time safely and so that these venues can keep coming to las vegas or anywhere else please dont forget to say thanks, or give a nod and a wave, WE truly appreciate it ! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF YOU ! “
Live by plur. Always!
ahhh! I remember telling one of the EMT’s “I PROMISE YOU, YOU WON’T SEE ME TONIGHT!” meaning that they won’t see me in their vehicle during the weekend :) PLUR <3
Oh my goodness this is exactly what I’ve been talking about. Ravers are supposed to be different, nicer, have different values. And that’s what makes us ravers.
And in the end, that is what is going to save the rave. We are the modern hippies. And when society figures out that we have better values than the majority f the population, they might just shake their heads at what a “good influence” we are and let us party:)
I gotta say vegas, you did a lot better than I thought.
Hell yeah, that’s what I’m talking about! Many ravers give recognition to many of those who deserve it- and officials like this seem to be too few and far between. Though this does go to show that if you truly give respect, that’s what you’ll get back! (Usually)
