PLEASE NEVER GIVE YOUR ANIMALS HARTZ PRODUCTS! IT HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS DEATHS IN CATS, and DOGS, it HAS CAUSED BURNS, and SEIZURES, THE VETERINARIAN SAYS IT IS PURE POISON. EVEN THE ANIMAL TREATS! PLEASE PLEASE REBLOG THIS!! YOU MAY SAVE A LIFE!i just looked this up you guys and its legit, so yeah, dont buy tthis stuff!
I haven’t looked into this yet, but just in case
I can speak from experience on this one.
About two years ago, fleas popped up in my house. I had never dealt with them before, so I wasn’t sure which product to buy. I settled on Hartz because it was the only brand in the store. I came home and applied it to my cat’s shoulders just like the instructions said. I noticed about an hour later that he was being a lot more lethargic than usual, and was even drooling excessively. Cats don’t really drool, not when they’re awake anyway. Needless to say, I freaked out and rushed him to the vet. I thought maybe some of the medicine had slid down his shoulders and maybe he licked it off.
I told the vets everything about his behavior and they said they had seen it before with other animals brought in after getting flea treatments from Hartz. One of the ladies examined his scruff and showed me what was going on. It wasn’t as bad as the poor dog in this image, but it was pretty bad. He only had that medicine on his back for an hour and it caused a major chemical burn, allowing the medicine to get into his system through the open wound.
They gave him a good long bath for me, administered an antibiotic to help clean his system, and let him stay overnight so they could watch his condition. The entire trip ended up costing me $100, and I learned a lesson from it. Kiwi’s just fine now, he recovered very quickly. But now I spend the extra money on buying a better brand. He gets Frontline treatments monthly, and Sentry brand shampoo for baths. These are top notch products and definitely worth the extra money. Cheaper than that vet visit for sure.
I don’t even touch Hartz’s other products like treats and toys. They use entirely unsafe materials in all of their products. The reason why nobody has ever been able to properly sue them is because they have a very strong team of lawyers to back them up. Pretty much the entire business end of the company is nothing but lawyers with master’s degrees. So instead of trying to bring them down through the justice system, the best we all can do is simply not buy their products, and spread the word.
I used the flea medicine on my cats, with no reaction. I will never do it again!
I used this on my weenie dog a few months ago, and the poor thing was convulsing and seizing, had major burns on his belly, foaming at the mouth, and could barely function for days. We couldn’t afford any medical help at the time, but after consulting vets their best advice was to get them to drink as much water as possible. We almost lost my pup to this product, after doing research I discovered they’re always dealing with lawsuits and my biggest question is WHY haven’t they been shut down yet? They are aware they are torturing and killing animals, but once again in this capitalist nation money comes first and there are probably way too many business connections in the politics, it’s disgusting. My only hope is that this circles the net enough to destroy their company, that their murderous reputation is recognized, and that people become aware of the products’ severity.
Holy shit, REBLOG. Get the word out.
